Sweep, that rocks! Wife wouldnt let me have one. Says I am too much of a pyromaniac. Kinda reminds me of the one in my Grandfathers house. Was done by an old backwoods mason (what else is there in south GA) and was brick from head to toe. A REAL fireplace much like that. You could put some serious wood in it. Had a trap door in the bottom that you opened and swept all the ash into, and then a second door on the outside that you could pull all the ash and coals out of. When I was little, and my Grandfather, my dad, and I would get up at 4:30 in the morning to go hunting. He'd get a big fire going before we ate breakfast, and it'd last near all day. He would load up the fireplace with wood, hose it down with lighter fluid, stand back and toss in a match! God I miss those days.
