Scroll down to the one entitled "IMMIGRANT EXPERIENCE"

The latest sweeps and detentions of disenfranchised immigrants are a horror. [red]These folks should be given citizenship, health insurance, subsidized housing and a yearly stipend[/red], as well as just recompense for their unwarranted detention. [red]This will ensure that they will not become a burden on society[/red] and that they will be guaranteed their human rights.

[red]Is it not better that 10 terrorists go free than one innocent man be punished?[/red]

Surely we have room in our huge country for the millions who suffer from poverty, lack of education, ill health and repression? [red]Surely we can bring them into this country, feed, clothe and heal them and find room for their children?[/red]

In order to pay for this, [red]it is obvious that we need to double or triple the taxes on the wealthy and the corporations.[/red] Perhaps we will have to do with fewer luxuries, but we can give up an SUV for peace. Similarly, is it not better that one poor man be enriched than 10 poor men be impoverished? I ask you.

Is this guy smoking crack? Jesus, there is nothing that get's my blood boiling more than some bleeding heart bastard saying that I should give a hand out to someone that is unable to come to this contry legaly, and then find a job. Sorry, you don't see me lookin to go to any other coutnry to live off their citizens tax dollars. Oh, wait a second, I can't do that, I have too much pride in my self to do such a thing. And what about the homeless citizens that were born here? Do they need to be sacraficed so that someone coming to this country can live a better life off my tax dollars?

I am sorry for the rant, and will stop now, only to resume tonight when I am refreshed!

I think I have got a solution!!!!  Become a citizen of another country and sneak into the U.S. illegally.  Just think.  No taxes and everything you want is paid for by the rich people already here.

OMG!  I know there are people like this out there, I've just never seen it put in writing with this many wrong-headed ideas in one place.

Amazing level of detachment from reality.

Yep. Here is a perfect example of what Vladimir Lenin called a "useful idiot".

There's no other explanation for it...

Lower Slobbovia is much too nice for a dweeb like that.  The regional beer is pretty good.

"These folks should be given citizenship, health insurance, subsidized housing and a yearly stipend, as well as just recompense for their unwarranted detention. This will ensure that they will not become a burden on society"

Can somone explain how paying for their housing, insurance, and stipend isn't a burden on society?  If you really don't want them to be a burden deport them.

There you go using logic again.  You know logic confuses liberals.

Sometimes I think people just write crazy letters to the editor to see if they can get one published...

That DUMBA$$ has no clue as to how this country's economy works! ( Just give them this and give them that and they will become usefull citizens, etc, etc.) If he is so worried about this why doesn't he give up his SUV and pay for all of their expenses out if his own pocket. He won't becuase that is how liberals operate. The make themselves feel better by spewing all of this garbage without thinking that words mean something. And of course w/o caring where the money comes from and who ends up bearing the burden for all of this socialist crap!

On reflection, I have to believe that the guy who wrote this did it thinking "I wonder if the morons at the Chronicle will print this while nodding their heads wisely in agreement."

And I wonder how many readers of the Chronicle agree with the sentiments in the letter.

There's a reason the term "San Francisco Liberal" isn't redundant.  It's a matter of degree rather than kind.
