That is what happened to me. I think my children respect me to begin with, but fear is fun! |

Ultimately, I think the US is hated both from abroad and internally because of envy. As I've gotten older, I've realized just how powerful envy is and what an important motivator it is to socialists and other "wealth re-distributionists". When one cuts through the crap...envy is often at the root of alot of both legal and illegal crime, IMO.

I could care less if Iraq or Iran likes us but I think allies like Canada deserve a little more from us. The 35 days in jail for crossing the border to buy gas is nonsense. He should have got a stern, severe lecture and sent on his way.

Bush says that they hate us because we think we are free, or is it cute,I never can remember. Our bashers are pretty vocal about why they hate us. Here is a column that pretty much sums up what I read in foreign papers.

I never understood this until I worked my ass off in and out of college. I started to get a pay check and notice two things, too much money was coming out of my pay check and too many people are on welfare. Then on the streets I would get hasseled about not helping out others. I thought to myself, am I any smarter than anyone else? Any more creative? I like to tell myself "yes", but in reality, "no". The only thing that seperates me and the poor other guy is the willingness to work and get out there. To make a long story short, I think it is envy is what makes socialism popular in a lot of countries. Having people who have more is bad since not everyone can have a lot or any. Making all people equally poor is the goal of socialism. |
