Not that I am aware of. I remember that there was a woman that worked here who carried a concealed weapon. 9mm I think. When she was fired, they had quite a few people escort her off the premisis.

The hospital I work at has an official no weapons policy. Of course, I know of at least 5 other people in my department, besides myself, that carry guns anyway. One of them is one of my bosses. Guns are talked about all the time too. It's nice to be surrounded by so many pro-gunners at the work place! [:D]

We are not allowed to have guns on company property, not even in the secured parking lot. I hear some people keep guns in their vehicles but I NEVER WOULD![:)] Funny thing is that the director was out in the parking lot checking out another guys shotgun. He was whipping it around taking aim at the antenna's.

My ER is strictly for children - we see about 300-350 kids each day - sometimes as many as 450. We get major traumas daily. |

No private firearms allowed on base unless you live in Base Houseing (not the barracks).
We can carry on to the front gate of the base and then drop off our firearms with the armory during our working hours. |

As much as I hate to say it, most of those on this board who are able to carry live in areas that we really don't need to carry.
I open carry most of the time, but because of recent events I don't get outside very often. |

Anti gun policies suck... one place I worked at in NC had them, until one of the repairmen was shot at one night. They recinded the policy when no one would go out alone at night on a service call.

We have a policy of "no weapons or anything that could be used as a weapon, even for those legally allowed to possess weapons" with penalties up to and including termination. So, they left themselves some wiggle room. Still, it sucks because with the way the economy is, I am not going to risk losing my job.
I don't think my computer will come aftger me either, but remember Edgewater Technology... |

Work in downtown Pittsburgh........we have a no weapons policy here, but I carry always. Butter safe than sorry. We have about 15 others that do the same including one of the senior vice presidents.

We have a no-gun policy here where I work. Sometimes I'll have one in the car because I'll let a work buddy borrow a rifle or something. Given I live in a CCW state, I can LEGALLY carry a firearm in my building, but I could get FIRED for it. I live in a place I feel pretty safe anyway, so it doesn't bother me much.
Otherwise, we're pretty laid back. I know several other gunners here, and a couple that get on AR15! (spearweasel sits a few rows from me) And noone has reacted poorly to my desktop pictures on my two computers here.... One is me shooting my M1 Carbine, and one is one of my M1s lying on a shooting mat on the firing line at a match I shot in a while ago. [:)] |

Until I retired, I was a firearms instructor with an agency with armed plain-clothes investigators. Getting some of them to routinely carry a firearm was a constant problem, especially if they held a staff position. The gun was too big, it was too heavy, if they were armed they couldn’t drink alcohol (per agency policy), etc. A couple of times, I proposed standards to require our investigators to be armed, but the agency heads refused. (Of course, most of them didn’t usually carry their handguns either!) I finally gave up and just bought small gun safes for everybody, so at least they’d quit leaving their guns laying around in a desk drawer. Edited to add that I doubt I’d have had this problem with any of you guys!! [:D] |

The security police randomly check vehicles for weapons and ammo. Can't bring anything on without taking a chance of losing it forever.

We have a no-firearms-in-the-building policy where I work, but we can keep them in our locked vehicles. A few months ago, my boss tried to get upper mangement to allow CCW holders to cary in the building, but they wouldn't go for it. Everyone in my department (IT) has a CCW. Never know when an ornery COBOL program is going to attack. ;-)

We have 1 security guard, 2 parking lots we use on 2 different blocks and we walk through an apartment building to get to one of the parking lots. No guns, knives, OC spray, ammunition, anything even remotely threatening allowed on the premesis OR in your vehicle. This may be NM, but the company I work for is based out of the Pussies Republik of Kalifornia, so that's where policy gets made. Fuckin' sucks...

Mine has a "no weapons" policy for the building. AFAIK nobody has ever run afoul of it, and nobody has ever had their body or vehicle searched.
When I plan to go to the range after work I ignore the policy keep my "sporting goods" under direct control - either on my body or in a container that is under my control. I'm not about to leave anything that valuable in my vehicle because several have been stolen from our parking lot. |

Ah, the fun days of two years ago....Being able to bring your AR-15 or FAL to work and leaving it by your desk, or wearing cross-draw 45's as "bear protection."
Or taking apart and comparing our AR's on one side of an 8' table, while a very antigun consultant was doing paperwork on the other.... We had Gun Control instituted at work after someone went target shooting . A water sampler out in the woods heard bullets snapping throught the air nearby. :( We got the third degree at the weekly safety meeting - something about guns being for Bear protection, and they had to be locked up in the company safe while at work. There might have been more, but I noticed every one else starting to crawl under the tables to avoid notice...... But it is not a fireable offence to ignore the new policy like everything else potentially is. The policy seemed to have morphed into a don't ask, dont tell. |

I thought that was cool. The last drug test I took was in the military. Somehow their "random" drug testing always seemed to pick me! |
