Good morning
As a 14’r I say “In 1st ; page one” 
This is not a thread to “get anything” from people; this is about AWARENESS We guys hear about breast cancer daily, GUYS we need to worry about prostate and Testicular cancer!!!! Please take the time to read here and check yourself Testicular Cancer Resource Center American Cancer Society I am lying here getting my first “cocktail of drugs” to try and wipe out the cancer that made it into 3 of the 5 lymph nodes on my right side, between my kidneys and testicles. Will this hurt? Fawk…dunno yet??? Good luck with the treatment... My mom just start chemo and radiation (both 5 days a week) about 2 weeks ago for colon cancer. She's tired and gets sick feeling when she doesn't rest enough. Make sure you set aside enough down time!

the 7th of aapril was first visit to doctor, and that friday I was at Urology, that fridaay afternoon I was getting xrays and ultrasound
monday a CT was done and that tuesday was surgery They sent it off and it tested for a "mixed" cancer 32 days later I am here

I just came through a bout with Hodgkins (sp?) Lymphoma. Finished 6 months (24 treatments) of hard chemo in March of 2013. I'm praying you do well. For me it was as much a mental battle as it was physical. Just keep your head screwed on straight and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER doubt you will beat this. A year out from my treatments and I'm eating healthier, exercising more and feeling better than I ever have in my entire life (BTW, I turn 50 this year) Be Strong! |

I just finished mine in March. 5-1/2 months worth. You're in for some fun times, bud.
What exactly are they giving you? I was on an oxiliplatin (sp?) infusion every three weeks, and xeloda pills for two weeks at a time with a week off between rounds. Xeloda had its fun side effects but oxiliplatin is the suck. Keep your chin up. Cancer sucks but the treatments are better and better every year. It is beatable - I'm on my way back from it now and starting to feel a bit better and get a little muscle mass back. A positive "go on the offense" attitude makes a difference. |

Good luck Brother! Fiancee was diagnosed with cancer a month ago. It has been a whirlwind for us as well with surgery, etc. She begins chemo in a few weeks. What chemo are you getting? Prayers and happy thoughts sent. Bigfeet |

i will be doing 3 drugs,
bleomycin,etoposide and cisplatin they are all toxic and have scary "possible" side affects different drugs at different times and frequencies 5 days a week straight mon 1 dose 1-1/2 hrs off rest of wek mon 1 dose 1-1/2 hrs off rest of week start over the next m0nday three 21 day cycles maybe a 4th cycle |

I am on round two almost done. Going to do 3 rounds. I sitting in the chair now. Hair will fall out 2nd week. Everything will taste weird,hot flashes, no more soild poop. Mine spread to my lungs ( I don't even fucking smoke). The only good news I have for you is that this is highly treatable

I'm sorry..
BTDT back in 04.. Rahbnosarcoma on the left leg and lung. some tips.. smells are going to get funky and certain ones will set off the gag reflex. for me it was plastics, like your food try and cover.  Next my eyes went all wonky and couldn't read a page of test. I felt like i had the flu all the time. then after a week of rest i was better. Skin will get easy damaged, so watch what you are doing. throat and mouth will get sore. If they have the miracle mouthwash there get some.. oh and that saline flush, you taste it now? heh just wait till your next CT or MRI and they flush it.. it will take you down memory lane..
Well I'm in process of getting my 10 year checks.. chest is clear, but the spot on my kidney that they thought last year was a cyst has changed shape and gotten larger. will find out more when they do my leg/abdomen MRI weds. any way keep the positive waves flowing and joke with the nurses.. they didn't go with a portacath? |

Good luck with your recovery also keep a good eye on the veins, chemo will kick the shit out of them.. Get lots of rest.. OH and you will start craving certain foods.. Me it was fried rice, BK whoppers or 7-11 chili dogs.. everything else tasted like crap. |
