My Dad informed me that I had a family member serve with Gen. Washington when he attacked the Hessions on that Christmas so many years ago. He was captured by the Brits and put in prison, but was later able to escape.

Makes history seem alot more real.

I know what you mean. I can trace my family back to the Mayflower through my mothers side of the family.

It does make it seem more personal and real.

My mom's mother was a great, (great?) grand niece of Gen. Thomas (Stonewall) Jackson. [8D]
