Fake, but creepy in a way. I think most pilots know their boundaries.

Well that was pretty stupid.
ETA: Unless fake, then I R stoopid. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure thats fake. I've actually flown that close to a funnel, and there was zero turbulence or rotation.

So someone is decent at CGI and video editing, big whoop.
I say decent because he isn't great at it, at least, not enough to make it not look fake. ETA::Apparently good enough to trick people here though. Someone else said it before on here: Sometimes I feel like detecting fake videos on the internet is a superhuman skill that I have, compared to many others who can't. |

Fake, but pretty awesome. Reminds me of the guy doing cool things with video of his kid. I wish I were that talented... Bigfeet |

I predict in a few days that my local media will pick up the video and claim it was from the storms last night. They tend to "find" these things way after the rest of the internet and usually wrong in their unverified reporting.

Quoted: It's like the fake golden eagle video, the teachers would give marks base on how many views it got. View Quote Really, fakers can make a better fake if they don't go for the gold and have the CGI objects being 80% of the frame height. |

I especially like all the physics defying elements of the video. It makes it so realistic.

That shit looks like something out of a movie. That's nuts!
Can't be real, can it? I would think I would have seen it all over the place. |

Thus, when someone makes a decent CGI, your brain realizes the inconsistencies with it and what it expects based on experience and calls bullshit. This can be problematic in situations that are truly bizarre or outside of the realm of what you are used to and you mind can be fooled, but for the most part when dealing with every day Newtonian motions your "gut" feeling about what you are seeing can be pretty accurate. |

Or if it's posted on YouTube or from a chain email, saying it's fake is going to probably get you around 99% accuracy.

CGI ranges from excellent, to "something is odd, but its hard to put my finger on", to "that definitely looks wrong", to "that is blatantly faked", to "come on, that is copied and pasted gifs on top of a video". As you go up the scale, your brain shouts at you more and more, with the final step being laughter. |
