I bought a VSX-9700S a long time ago and I love it. I swear by Pioneer stuff.

Still have an old VSX-35TX, using it as a pre amp for the fronts connected to a Jolida tube int amp. This one is only 90 watts per ch, the sound is laid back, ok for some music but it does not have the impact. Very solidly built equipment, don't know about the quality now as I think some of the Elite Series are not built in Japan anymore.
The amp does get hot, love it for home theatre, still working, excellent remote, gave it to my brother as I've "moved up" to an NAD. Big mistake, had it almost 2 yrs and the sub output is out. At least it had a 2 yr warranty. |
