I'm not sure on the rules for carrying a gun on  you but I do know why your spellcheck isn't working.

Goatboy changed the content for the different levels of  membership. Since you are a non-paying member you now lose your ability to use "My Active Topics, Search, Spell Check" not sure what else. There is now a Bronze Membership where you can pay 20 bucks a year and get all of that stuff back plus something else. Go check it out on the main page under Membership.
