Mechanical. After loading, you wind the drum to store energy in the spring, and then with a pull of the trigger it will index by one and drop the firing pin.

So basically it is a huge double action revolver with a spring assist to move the huge drum.

Best on the market today www.reloadableshells.com. They are NOT Cheap, but they are also the best made 37mm reloadable shells and Projos on the market IMO
