Just curious how the rest of Arfcom who ever took the ACT, (or barring that the Compass "placement" test when you started college) did.  I just finished mine, and with the exception of Algebra (which I sucked at) I scored off the charts (near perfect), and was just curious how the rest of you compare.

FYI Compass differs from the ACT in that it scores (separately) from 0 to 100 in 4 categories: Reading, Writing, Pre-Algebra math, and Algebra.

ACT 30
SAT 1800 something

I was pretty proud when I scored better than my Dad.

He was a whiz at math and though I struggled through math in HS, I still scored better than him in it.

From what I understand 36 is still the max on the ACT

I can't remember but when I went to college (granted it was a small state college) I was told by admissions that it was the highest she had ever seen ACT's

I took the ACT's when I was 17 but did not go to college till I was 33

But given the college and area it could have been 18

I scored a 31 on my ACT, scored a perfect 36 on the reading comprehension portion, which made my English teacher proud.

I had terrible work ethic in HS though, so I had a shitty GPA and my decent ACT score did nothing for me.

Didn't do as well on the SAT.  Can't remember what I got.  1290?

28 on my ACT, didn't take the SAT and got an 86 on my ASVAB

I think I graduated college with a 2.4 or so GPA.  Never opened a book, honestly. And my last two years in college I quit even buying them (The books) since I knew a wasn't going to read them.  I just listened to the lectures and was satisfied with my C sometimes B with the occasional A on the test.

Pathetic I know, but I had no business in a 4yr college.  Would have been better off in trade school...

I never took the ACT, just the SAT, when it was outta 1600. Got a 1450 on my first try, got a 1410 on my second (my dad told me he'd buy me a .45 if I broke 1500 )

32 or 34, I can't remember which.  I just remember it was an even number in the 30's but not a perfect 36.

I scored 1580 on the SAT back in 1974 when the max score was 1800..  I'm told the scoring was revised and have no idea what they'd call that score today.  If it's like how my ASVAB scores were revised when they changed those back in the early 1990s I'd guess it went up by 60 points or more.

When they revised my ASVAB scores they turned into two 99s (Mechanical & Administrative) and two 95s (Electronics & General).  No clue how that would translate into scores for todays armed forces aptitude tests (whatever they're called).

27. I would have done better I think, but we all forgot about it, and went out beer drinking on gravel roads the night before. I was SERIOUSLY hung over when I took it.

I didn't take either the SAT or the ACT.

My daughter just took the SAT and got a 2250 (out of 2400) .  She's going to take it again on the 3rd, so we'll see if she can bump it up a bit.

ETA:  ACT 24-25?  No SAT.  Math and Science low 30's, English high teens.

30 on the ACT, never took the SAT.
30 in Science
32 in English
36 in Reading Comprehension
18 in Math

I beat out the girl I was dating at the time by one point.  I also took it 4 years out of high school, otherwise I might have done better in the math section.

I have no idea. It was nearly a quarter century ago. It was somewhere north of 30, and that was good enough for me.  Between that & continued grades, I was able to have at least tuition covered by undergrad scholarships. As a result, only grad school accounts for my obscenely high student loan amount.  After taking so many standardized tests, it is a distant memory.

ACT
MCAT
USMLE parts 1-3
USMLE subtests for clinical rotations
ABA in-training exams & certification written component...

Self-selection bias. People who didn't do very well probably aren't likely to post their scores.

I got a 1360 on SAT when 1600 was max.

I don't know what this Compass business is.

Exactly.  Everyone on arfcom also got a 99 on their ASVAB, in fact the really smart ones got a 100.
