SANTA ANA – A former hospital executive from Corona del Mar formally pleaded guilty this week to bribing a state senator and paying millions of dollars in kickbacks.

Michael D. Drobot, 69, appeared Thursday in U.S. District Court to admit to two counts: payment of kickbacks and conspiracy to commit multiple offenses. He signed a plea agreement in February, agreeing to cooperate with the federal prosecution of Sen. Ron Calderon.
