Well, this didn't become "Über" popular (I kill myself) very quickly. Who really cares which side of the political spectrum should claim the system? National Socialism, aka Nazism, is not good and caused a lot of destruction and misery.

The left to right political spectrum runs from full government control to limited government/anarchy. Nazis were statists, therefore, leftists. Misnaming nazism as right wing is a progressive lie that you guys seem to have fallen in.

see that word socialism? Ignore what comes before it.
That'll clue you in. |

Socialism is leftist.
Putting the word "national" in front of it does not change that. The Dems love to paint "national socialism" as being right wing so they can claim that the right in this country are a bunch of Nazis. |

Politics isn't simple or one-dimensional. There's more than two ways of looking at things.

Misnaming nazism as right wing is a progressive lie that you guys seem to have fallen in. View Quote Naturally, that's why it's usually only the left wing people who advocate strong national militaries or wrap themselves in rhetoric about the "good old days" when the country was better - like when kids respected the flag and stood to say the pledge every morning, and people shut up and stood at attention for the national anthem at ballgames. Right wingers, on the other hand, are infamous for championing individual rights even when the expression of them runs contrary to social tradition - to include championing greater participation in society of ethnic minorities and homosexuals. |

I was under the impression that the Nazi public mania was fueled by the image they were standing up to the oppression committed after WWI and the social injustices perceived. They believed they were the victims of Europe and were diehard statists. The Jewish were the scapegoat, seen as successful and thieving of what the Germans deserved.
Perhaps the left has changed their agenda to curry votes, but it looks similar to me. |

I don't buy into this rather revisionist, linear scale based on economic freedom that for some reason has become so popular in modern American politics. |

Like the guy who posted the image above, the USA is a constitutional republic. We do want a government. We want a severely limited government, restricted by a constitution, but we do not advocate anarchy because anarchy does not respect human rights. A constitutional republic's only job is to guarantee equal rights, not equal outcomes like leftists. Constitutional republics are way right of center, but not at the extreme right end. |

Depends on what group is calling themselves the National Socialist such and such.
Is it the The National Socialist German Workers' Party? Or the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics? Or the National Socialist Party? Or etcetera.... etcetera.... You see.... it is political buzzwording and more alphabet soup crap |
