One of our battle groups is already stationed in Japan. How hard would it be for them to make the trek to the Korean Penninsula? |

They just said on MSNBC the N. Koreans have a little over a million in their military. [:O] I had no idea.
They say they need that reactor for power. OK but, then why do they need to pull out the cameras and throw out the inspectors? |

THe problem is the Dear Leader is fucking wack job. Hussein isn't insane, just a homicidal, meglomaniacal butcher. Kim Jonh Il is completely insane. you have no idea what this fuck is going to do. But here is some common sense advice for the pres. Don't let wack jobs get nukes. I really think we need to take NK down and THEN worry about Iraq. However, seeing as how my sorry ass will have to go most likely, I hope they wait till it gets warmer. It is cold as fuck over there!

Don't forget that on Dec. 13th, NK started entering the DMZ daily with LMGs thus violating the 1953 armistace agreement so we now technically have an ACTIVE Korean war.
Either the NK leaders have gone completely insane, or something else is going on behind the scenes. |

Hopefully, we have taken copious notes from the Israelis. Lets see, a SEAL or Delta team, middle of the night, couple of rucks full of C-4, or other material that goes boom, and voila, they are back to the drawing board. [:D]

They don't want to expel us militarily, they want overwhelming public opinion in the south to give us the boot, just like happened in the Phillipines. FWIW, I think by their recent actions, with their nuclear facilities they hurt their chances of influencing many of the people in the south who were fence sitters about reunification. |

Yes North Korea has a 1.1 million man army, but their air force is on the ground largely [b]in pieces[/b], an unimpressive navy and no logistical capability to supply their troops in South Korea. Remember, the North Koreans were crushed during the Korean war until China entered the fray. There's no more Soviet Union supplying the North Koreans with weapons and tanks and air support (with Russian pilots) and I doubt China will come to the North's aid this time. In an unrelated question: why aren't you ever in the warehouse? [:D] |

They want the U.N. and the U.S. to get out and stay out of their business,Kind of like a lot of us want the U.N. to go away. There is no contest here,all of you know as well as i do,that we{The U.S.}can obliterate north Korea with a push of a button. Would any of you want the U.N. watching every move you made?or would you mind them controlling just about every aspect of you'r life? Come on people. Folks, remember, that this North Korean thing has only started to escalate in the past few weeks, it will take many weeks to resolve it, one way or the other.
Iraq has been breaking their UN agreements for years, and the current US/UN action has taken several months to develop. The US is continuing the buildup for any needed IRAQ action, and is exploring all political/military options for North Korea. |

NK is probably figuring that we are pre-occupied with the middle east. Which we are. HOpefully they will hedge their bets until they see what happens in Iraq. North Korea is pulling the two front strategy which their mentors, the Russians and Chinese, had been doing for years. The only problem is it may upset the timetable on Iraq. For better or worse, the Iraq thing has wheels and looks like that's what is happening first. (Would love to see it as a feint, and hit Korea as a surprise, though).
There are a lot of Koreans here which easily could be sleepers. Watch them. And, the big lesson: it was no way to end a war (in 1952). You win it, or fight it again. I guess that's why Iulius Caesar made defeated enemies march under the yoke. Let them know who's boss. |
