Does anybody else think we're going to throw a couple of cruise missles at their reactor and call it a day?

One of our battle groups is already stationed in Japan.  How hard would it be for them to make the trek to the Korean Penninsula?

They just said on MSNBC the N. Koreans have a little over a million in their military. [:O]  I had no idea.

They say they need that reactor for power.  OK but, then why do they need to pull out the cameras and throw out the inspectors?

Don't forget that on Dec. 13th, NK started entering the DMZ daily with LMGs thus violating the 1953 armistace agreement so we now technically have an ACTIVE Korean war.

Either the NK leaders have gone completely insane, or something else is going on behind the scenes.

I'm more worried about N Korea than the Iraqi's any day of the week. I say we stop them first then take care of Iraq.

Chinas Shit.  They don't want to fuck up the WTO trade status they got.  Wait, in 20 years we might have to deal with them.  I just say we ally with them.  Why not?  We ally with commie shitbags like the English and the Jews.

Fuck N.K.  1 GR, active military is reported at 1.2 million stationed mainly along the border.  However, this is just plain politics.  They want the US out of SK.  They are having this "Nuclear showdown" to prove they can "stand up" to the US imperilistic tactics. (Infidel AmericanS!).  Just wait, They will comply right after SK ejects our troops.

Then NK takes SK, and we have peace again.

-Iraq = lots of oil and Bush HAS to pay back the money invested in his campain by the oil companies. We attack Iraq first.

-N. Korea = has SHIT. We will get a lot of that also.

Yeah but they don't feed them too well.
Probably water, rice and dog biscuits![:D]

Listen, what they want to do is, continue driving a wedge between South Korea and the U.S. as they have (somewhat successfully) done in the last twenty years or so.

They don't want to expel us militarily, they want overwhelming public opinion in the south to give us the boot, just like happened in the Phillipines.

FWIW, I think by their recent actions, with their nuclear facilities they hurt their chances of influencing many of the people in the south who were fence sitters about reunification.

No way in hell. South Korea has the most modern army in Asia second only to the Japanese. Yes North Korea has a 1.1 million man army, but their air force is on the ground largely in pieces, an unimpressive navy and no logistical capability to supply their troops in South Korea. Remember, the North Koreans were crushed during the Korean war until China entered the fray. There's no more Soviet Union supplying the North Koreans with weapons and tanks and air support (with Russian pilots) and I doubt China will come to the North's aid this time.

In an unrelated question: why aren't you ever in the warehouse? [:D]

1 million men running on 1 million treadmills connected to 1 million generators might provide enough electricity.

Or run them in three shifts on 1/3 million treadmills to provide 'round the clock electricty.

[blue]Edited to put the "l" in clock [:D] - 1GR[/blue]

edit to say - Holy Crap Bat Man. Did I say that!!![shock] Thanks 1GR, I certainly didn't mean to say that.

In my opinion N.K. is not pushing anybody.
They want the U.N. and the U.S. to get out and stay out of their business,Kind of like a lot of us want the U.N. to go away.
There is no contest here, all of you know as well as i do,that we{The U.S.}can obliterate north Korea with a push of a button.
Would any of you want the U.N. watching every move you made?or would you mind them controlling just about every aspect of you'r life?
Come on people.  N.K. is no more of a threat to this country than Iraq is.

Folks, remember, that this North Korean thing has only started to escalate in the past few weeks, it will take many weeks to resolve it, one way or the other.

Iraq has been breaking their UN agreements for years, and the current US/UN action has taken several months to develop.

The US is continuing the buildup for any needed IRAQ action, and is exploring all political/military options for North Korea.

I wonder if there is a mortgage on North Korea's power plant and if so who holds it?

If the mortgage happens to be owned by one of the NWO banks do you think it's possible Kissinger has told the administration hands off and North Korea knows it.

NK is probably figuring that we are pre-occupied with the middle east.  Which we are.  HOpefully they will hedge their bets until they see what happens in Iraq.  If Saddam gives us a run for the money, expect NK to get real aggressive.  If we mop up the floor with Saddam, especially if we do it without nukes, I'll bet NK sits down and shuts up.

Not true. North Korea is an active developer of ballistic missiles. In 5-10 years they will have missiles capable of hitting the United States. So will Iran. Iraq has Scuds that have at max 400 mile range with a 1 mile radius of accuracy. HUGE difference. Iraq is not a threat, North Korea certainly is.

NK won't be like Iraq. It won't be a cake walk. We will lose major casualties in any war with NK. The American People won't stand that.

Once again, slowly: being anti-war does not mean you are a liberal.

If anything, being anti-war is in the best interests of liberty, and means that you are closer to true conservatism than today's "conservatism." In the past, being a conservative meant you were anti-war. It was the liberals who were pro-war.

My friend, you have taken my comment out of context! I know plenty of very conservative folks who are against a war with Iraq, and they have some compelling arguements. My statement was in response to some jerk (the one who insulted the actual soldiers, whom I won't bother to name) who said that any war with Iraq was strictly over oil. This same person also may have lied about his service record, though that remains to be proven. He also said that Bush was worse than Hitler!

Just wanted to clarify!

North Korea is pulling the two front strategy which their mentors, the Russians and Chinese, had been doing for years.  The only problem is it may upset the timetable on Iraq.  For better or worse, the Iraq thing has wheels and looks like that's what is happening first.  (Would love to see it as a feint, and hit Korea as a surprise, though).

There are a lot of Koreans here which easily could be sleepers.  Watch them.

And, the big lesson:  it was no way to end a war (in 1952).  You win it, or fight it again.  I guess that's why Iulius Caesar made defeated enemies march under the yoke.  Let them know who's boss.

They do, they can hit most of Asia and even the Middle East, but not as far as America (yet). They will be able to, however.
