I went down to BassNW in downtown Seattle last Friday and picked up this G&L L-2000 bass and an Ashdown ABM-300 head with mini-115 cabinet!

This rig sounds so good, I haven't even opened my gun safe all week! [beer]

Did anybody else get a new rig for Christmas?

Cheers,
Chris

Very nice rig!  A few years ago I was walking through a pawn shop and found an Ampeg svt III in great condition.....$250.  I had to buy it on the spot.  I just like to hack, and haven't become much of an equipment junky...unlike my AR habit.  I would like to get a Sadowsky someday though...

Sweet rig dude!  Our bass player loves Ibanez (I'vebeenhad) SG series.  He is playing a SG 5 string now.  He is also partial to Ampeg SVT series and SWR amps and SWR cabs....likes the Triad and the 4x10.  His old bass was a neck through SG 4 string, transparent turquoise with gold hardware, active pickups.  Custom ordered, only mod was a hipshot detuner that he used to flip bak and forth during tunes for the low D note.  He had to sell it years ago, then when shopping for a new one like it, he kept getting told "Ibanez never made one of those".  No wonder when he ordered it it took 6 months LOL!

What kind of music do you play?

We play mostly plain old Rock & Roll. The guitarist writes all of the songs, and they vary from brit-rock (beatles, the who, costello), to old punk (the Clash), to country, to mellow singer/songwriter stuff. We are currently looking for a new drummer, but have been doing some acoustic guitar and bass gigs at local taverns lately.

We have a Beatlesque type song up on our website if you want to give a listen.

I would come jam with you if I wasn't so far away!
My current, but possibly soon to be defunct band:

Our singer is in the hospital, he rolled his car in a rather typical fit of rock and roll angst, he is laid up after having surgery to put his leg back together....broken in three places.

My prior band.  I may rejoin these guys, I am at least going to help produce an upcoming record they are doing, and I wrote one of the tracks on it.  It will be in stores regionally via Oarfin Records...Circuit City, Best Buy, Tower, etc.  If I do rejoin them I may do the drum tracks too.  I am discussing some things with them tonight.
