A favorite tactic of anti-gunners is to spout off about the death and destruction caused by criminal use of guns while completely ignoring the admittedly harder to find information about the use of guns in self-defense. You cannot analyze gun control policy correctly without considering both statistics.

The anti-gunners never mention that a lot of those people either deserved or wanted to die. A significant percentage of them died at the hands of fellow gang members, some were killed by law enforcement people, and some were killed by their potential victims. Many of them were suicides. In a "gun-free" world (as if there could be such a place), you would see a similar number of deaths due to knifings, bludgeonings, poisoning and various other gruesome means.

It seems we have more police officers charged with murder than concealed weapons permit holders here (AZ).

You are also more likely to die accidently fromfood poisoning, than accidently from a gun.

One of my M1s was manufactured in April '44, and was used in the European theatre.  No telling if she felled any krauts.

My other M1 was made in June '45, and probably saw action in Korea.  No telling how many communists it's killed.

My Lee Enfield was made in May '44, so it may have killed a few krauts, too, however, given it's excellent condition, and matching (original) parts, it may not have ever been used in the field...

When the fucksticks at HCI start spouting their bullshit of how many gun deaths there are by "children and adults" remember that those stats are worthless since the CDC calls 15-19 year olds "children".


10806, that's still a lot of people, but far from the stats that HCI is going to be spouting.
And remember, more than half come from people checking out on their own.

I think that each and every anti-gun outfit in the USA would be serving the public better if they would shift their focus from banning guns to helping to directly prevent suicide.
