8 minutes to try to turn this into a porn thread... very nice, but a little slow and wrong answer... Come on, how long till I get an "I'd hit it?"

What was M's (the real one) actual name (not the actor, the character) What was Q's real name (used twice in Dr. No and The Spy Who Loved Me) What was Bond's wife's name? (maiden, of course) What was the sniper rifle used in From Russia With Love. And, the bonus question, What was Bond's Mother's maiden name. For double points, what country was she from? |

Yes, the final scene before the credits has the little guy in the rope basket at the top of the junk's mast.
He doesn't look happy, but at least he wasn't pitched overboard. Little fucker showed a good fighting spirit if you ask me. Went down swinging. |
Herve was ahea of his time. The "Mini-Me" of the 70's!
Bond's PPK: wasn't it a .32? Bond's wife: Tracy, don't know last name. |
Correct on both counts, I will save the last name for later in the program.
Admiral Sir Miles Mercervy. Correct
Bond's father was Scottish, but not his mother. |
I was thinking about his housekeeper in some of the books. May, I believe it was.
What was Bond's ORIGINAL carry gun? When did he change to the 7.65 Walther PPK?
Careful now...[;D] |
Barretta 25,
but he did have a smith and wesson .38 he used for home defense. He got the PPK in Dr. No after his Barreta jamed in his holster in From Russia With Love (ironically the next film but it was the previous book) Howd I do? |
PUSSY GALORE!
Well, I just wanted to yell that out...erm, feel better now. [:)] |
Q's real name was Boothroyd.
The gun he used in L&LD was aSmith & Wesson Model 29 .44 magnum revolver. His wife's name was Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo. The Sniper rifle was the AR7, previously mentioned. His mother was swiss, don't remember her name. Technically, you're only supposed to ask one question per post sylvan. |
What was the first Bond movie?
(careful now...) edit: oh, wait. i was wrong. never mind. change of question: which were the non-bond, yet bond, films? there were two...(and no, i'm not counting the one with george lazenby in it, although that could be another trivia question...) |
Well Done!
Casino royale and Never Say Never were bond, but nut Cubby Brocolli Bond. And Casino Royale was first. Maria de la Croix was his mothers name. Nice catch on the swiss. Follow up what was the calibre of the man with the golden gun's gun? Do you expect me to talk? No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! Goldfinger has to be the best. |
Casino Royale came first?
I just checked IMDB (hence why i edited it) and it gave Dr. No a 1962 date, but Casino Royale a 67 date... unless you meant books :) I thought Scaramanga's gun was like 7.5mm or something weird like that... More trivia (pretty easy)...which movie was Never Say Never Again a remake of? |
Quoted: Admiral Sir Miles Mercervy. Correct Bond's father was Scottish, but not his mother. View Quote I believe the original head of MI6 was Sir Mansfield-Cummings, who was originally known as 'C'. Ian Fleming (James Bond creator) decided to use a sort of tongue-in-cheek approach and used the 'M'. |

who was the first American Bond girl?
(before tanya) who was the first Black Bond girl? (before halle) |
Quoted: More trivia (pretty easy)...which movie was Never Say Never Again a remake of? View Quote ThunderBall - Both done by Sean Connery - How often does an actor get to do the remake of his own prior role... Edit: - What movie did 007 go back to using a Beretta 25? (but not "issued" to him) |
Quoted: Bond's PPK: wasn't it a .32? View Quote I'm not much of a metric person, but in Dr. No, when he gives up the beretta, they say the Walther is in 7.65 mm. Would that make it a .32? |

Quoted: Follow up what was the calibre of the man with the golden gun's gun? View Quote Wasn't it like a 4.2mm? View Quote They actually called it a 4.2 caliber. Which, of course, makes no damn sense. Wasn't Honeychile Ryder American? I remember him using the Baretta, but can't remember the movie. |

The AR-7 was featured in another Bond movie other than FRWL, in the hands of a beautiful sniperess. Which one?
