I received the following email from someone claiming to be Vicky Savimbi, the wife of Dr. Jonas Savimbi, the anti-Communist rebel leader of UNITA in Angola:

Attn,

I am writing to introduce my self and the purpose of this
letter to you. I am the wife of late general JONAS SAVIMBI,
the leader of UNITA forces of Angola. My husband had fought
to liberate the people of Angola from the oppressive
Governance which preceded the people of Angola for so many
years, Unfortunately he was cut down in the mid stream. The
news of his death came to me like fiction but at last it
was true.
before his death he had in his possession two boxes that
contain large sum money to the tune of 25million US$ dollar
(25,000.000 ) I was able to get some vital documents
covers the money where it was deposited in a private
security company in dubai. The death of my husband was a
big shock to me and led me to a state of confusion. The
Government is after me and my children and bent on
confiscating all our assets.
After a deep thought, I decided to fly to Abidjan cote
D'ivoire where i am for present as the former military
president by name Robert Guei was a good friend of my
husband but since his death I am therefore looking for an
honest and conscience guided business and God fearing
person who can help me and my children to go and claim the
money from the security company in dubai for investment
purposes and for us to finally settle in your country as we
are tired of staying here.

Now, I am as ardent an anti-Communist as anyone, but somehow, I would think such a call for help would have MY e-mail address, not that of a mailing list. Not to mention that this sounds exactly like a take on the ol' "pigeon drop" gag/con.[8D]

Damn! To think that my reputation as an executive protection/security agent of honorable character HASN'T made it over to The Dark Continent. Guess I'll have to wait a couple of months for word to actually spread[;D]
