Well is he living on base or off, can't have cool toys in the barracks. What are his interests?. If he kikes to shoot I believe there is a club called Gateway in Jax, maybe a gun in his future.

I think a nice SureFire would come in handy - legal pretty much everywhere - and you can spend anywhere from less than $50 on up. Very practical.
Come to think of it - if I sat down Xmas morning and every present I opened up contained a SureFire product - I'd break down into tears of joy. |

What kind of corpsman? With the navy side or marine side? If he's with Marine side, does he go out to the field of is he in an aid station?
If he's green side, and goes to the field, then all the tactical goodies that marines use are fair game for him. I got myself a Glock field knife, best $28 I ever spent. It's a tank of a knife, takes a beating and I won't be at all sad if I lose it cuz it was only $28. Flashlites are good, but ny surefire went into the locker the first week I was there because it only holds a 60 min charge and is dead weight inside two or three days. Plus you'd never need anything that bright in the field. I've got a ton of ideas, if he's green side. |

Easy one! Take him out to the local strip club for one hell of a night on the town. If he doesn't like it, worry about him swapping spit in the shower.

Well, the Surefire sounds like a, well, sure fire gift. Of course, sticking to my premise that I'd never give a gift that I wouldn't want to receive myself, I'll have to buy two! [:)] Good tip on the SureFire, Sherm; maybe a box of 123s as well.
He is green side, authorized to wear the Marine uniform (including MARPAT, I presume), and is trained as a Combat MEdic as well. His work in Okinawa was in the ER and E-OR, stitching Marines back together after local adventures. |

A surefire light will not work as the lithium batteries are not easily found. AA batteries, on the otherhand, are plentiful and used throughout the military. 2. Tactical dropleg holster for his M9 Beretta 3. Leatherman Wave or similar multitool 4. A good knife Glock/Kabar etc.. 5. Nomex flight gloves (much better than the issued crap) Just a few off the top of my head...... |
