He's a cruffler,
She's a cruffler,
Wouldn't you like to be
a cruffler too!

Count me in.  Speaking of crufflers, what happened to cruffler.com?

Got one. Usually use it for the FFL discount from Brownells.

Had one.

Just got plum tired of having to replace my front door every time the Bureau boys came over for one of their unscheduled inspections of my bound book.

Honestly, I couldn't afford to keep it any more, but oh the lugers, the P-38's, the EG Makarovs, the swede mausers!  How I miss it sometimes!

And here's what sucks:  Once you allow your license to expire, bastards like SOG and Century keep tempting you with catalogues!  Why just last week I was throwing away a flyer saying "Take your 2-for Yugo SKS special and go straight to hell!!!"

Yep, except they don't do unscheduled inspections on C&R FFL's.

How does it work when your three years are up? Do you re-apply or just pay the $30 again?

Does the book have to be professionally bound, or will a 3 ring binder suffice?

Ding Ding

Let's get ready to rumble!

My C&R bound book consists of a one page MS-Word document with a copy of the table taken from the BATF regs.  That's it.  (I don't have all that huge of a C&R collection)

I'm a new Cruffler!

I've had my C&R for about a month now, bought a Russian K98 Import with it.

Yep, another cruffler here too.  Bought a few guns with mine but I'm really loving that Brownell's discount.  I really take advantage of that.

Sherrick --There is a CFR which requires the Secretary to act on your application within 60 days.  They don't always do so and it can be helpful to write them a POLITE email citing this reg.  I did and my license suddenly showed up 2 days later along with a polite reply email saying I'd been approved.  Feel free to email me if your license doesn't show up soon and I'll try to find the reg.

Just a thought:  Earlier in the thread someone said something about buying a bound book from Brownells to log C&R guns.  If you look at the format prescribed for logging C&R's in the BATF manual and then look at the format offered by Brownells, it's not exactly the same.  (I don't have either in front of me right now so I don't recall the differences.)  (Dealers have a slightly different format from collectors.)  When I was looking for a book, I even called Brownells and discussed this with a techie and was told that they didn't offer any in the C&R format.  It may not really make any difference but I didn't want to take the chance knowing how incredibly anal the alphabet boys can be.  I searched around the internet and downloaded one that someone had created.  There are several out there.  I printed off several pages and stuck them in a three ring binder and voila!  Compliant C&R bound book.

I hope this helps...I don't want any fellow crufflers to get into trouble.  Good luck and happy cruffling!

Sam
