I was expecting a bolt action .22 and a couple of side by side shotguns.....

The only terrifying thing about that cache of weapons is the fate that awaits them now.
ETA: Why do they ALWAYS throw knives in the pile any time a bunch of guns gets found in someone's house? If a cache of knives isn't newsworthy, then why are they suddenly relevant when guns are found? |

"CAUTION - FIREARM"
I'm glad that they labeled them, so that nobody would be confused. |

Whenever I see propaganda like this...my heart always goes out to my brothers stuck behind enemy lines in the UK.
From the Empire...to this. ...come to think of it, I guess we're on the same path. |

One could freely keep and bear arms in the UK. The same is true in all of the major English-speaking countries. The situation now is rather bad. |

Police say it will be sometime before they know if the weapons are safe.

It certainly wasn't as common. |

The island nation that once had nearly the entire world at its feet and they're afraid of guns that aren't even loaded.
Fuck. |

There will come a time when many of their citizens will rue the day they let their weapons be confiscated.
One day. It will come. |

I'm sure that was a historical day for UK police.....Probably the first time any of them have ever seen and touched an actual gun in real life.

Big government in the UK has its origins in WWI and the gun laws which form the basis for the laws today in the UK came in the wake of WWI. Before that there were almost no restrictions on ownership or carry of firearms, which doesn't necessarily mean that people commonly kept or bore arms (it certainly wasn't as prevalent as in the U.S. or other English-speaking places). |

The daily mail love to sensationalise stuff like this. The guns and small arms ammo were not a big deal. If there were large munitions in the house such as WWII artillery shells etc, then the standard procedure will be to treat them as live unless it can be demonstrated otherwise and cordon the area off. We've been dealing with unexploded munitions from WWII for decades so the procedure is well practiced. |

How is it possible that he had all those and didn't kill thousands of people..?
They might have even spontaneously exploded and leveled a city block. |

Before that there were almost no restrictions on ownership or carry of firearms, which doesn't necessarily mean that people commonly kept or bore arms (it certainly wasn't as prevalent as in the U.S. or other English-speaking places). It coincided with a rise in left wing politics that eventually ruined the UK. The Russian revolution was the tipping point and the UK govt realised it had a heavily armed population and a largely unarmed police force that policed by consent. The government were concerned that a communist revolution may also affect the UK as a result of the emboldened political left pointing to Russia and driving the politics of entitlement and envy on that basis. This spurred the Govt of the day to start considering gun control. While the risk of revolution in the UK was very low with hindsight, the political left did gain ground on the promises of free shit for everyone. They adopted and pushed hard on the gun control and big govt mantra that has led us to where we are today. It is an ongoing battle between common sense and nanny statists lefty cunts who want to impose their will on everyone. Ironically it will probably be the left who starts the next revolution. Whether it is peaceful or not depends on how retarded their impositions are. While we have a conservative coalition at the moment, our biggest problem, like yours, is a complete lack of credible leadership on the political right. The political right is so busy bowing down to the political correctness imposed but their opponents that they appear weak and spineless. What we need is a common sense political leadership on the right with the spine to tell the leftists to ram the politically correct bullshit and nanny statism up their fucking arse and start treating the people like the responsible assets they are instead of slaves to a socialist ideology. |

Harden the fuck up.
I just lugged 60 more pounds of bullets into my reloading room last night. |

It would be a modest collection start, if they were not deactivated..
I wonder how we get so many British tourists in Switzerland.. We are full of terrifying caches... Everywhere... |
|
I see it's always a "cache" of guns, never a collection. Not even when it's a bunch of museum pieces.
