Gotta love that title for a 'news' article.
http://www.newser.com/story/182581/whip-wielding-russia-militia-roughs-up-pussy-riot.html (Newser) – Things got nasty in Sochi today when Pussy Riot tried to perform an anti-Putin protest song. Cossack militia members descended on six members of the group (this time including one man) just as they were starting to perform, reports AP. Video shows the officers using horsewhips and roughly pulling the ski masks off band members. One reportedly used pepper spray. Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, recently released after a stint in prison, even got whipped as she lay on the ground. Russian police arrived after a few minutes, and nobody got arrested. The Washington Post provides some background on the Cossacks, previously known for their pogroms against Jews. "Today they are socially conservative and ardent supporters of the Russian Orthodox Church. Recently, they have been revived as a sort of volunteer citizen patrol, and about 800 of them have supplemented the police providing security for the Winter Games." Yesterday, Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina were detained for hours and accused of theft, but were eventually released without charges. |

Putin doesn't like them. |

That sounds hot!
But after hearing them sing in that video, they should have just shot them |

At the end of the clip, the lead singer did not look like a chick who had been pepper sprayed.

In Soviet.... oops, I mean modern Russia you speak out against Putin you get sent to gulag.

One guy, five chicks. Should have just kicked him in the nads and done!

Obama doesn't have the sack to flog pussy like that, America has gone so far down hill.

That's some masochistic women. They just got out a slave labor camp and then they pull the same stunt that landed them there.
I wonder if they were orgasming while getting whipped and pepper sprayed. |

I thought Cossacks were supposed to be bad assess, not women beating fags.
I guess they have more in common with Muslims than just the fact they were beards. |
|
The caption under the picture should read play stupid games win stupid prizes.
I don't think I have seen a more appropriate use of the phrase. |
|
Should've beat them when they attacked the church service. This is a great example for leftist parents who don't believe in disciplining their leftist offspring. If you don't do it, the Cossacks will.

Good whipping?
To even ask the question is the highlight the absurdity of police using whips. It what world did whipping make sense? Russia - where horse whip is mothers embrace. |
|
|
Beating them only increases their influence.
Why not just ignore them? Then they're just a bunch of girls who jumped around for a few minutes. The end. |

I'm always amazed by GD. Sure, they're probably stupid girls that can't sing for shit. But then they're attacked for what all of us would recognize as exercising free speech. This is a beautiful example of tyranny at work and GD sides with the tyrants.

View Quote Why don't you get up early Sunday morning and run into a crowded church screaming about feminism and gay rights and see how much free speech you get? The ACLU might back you up but that's about it. I recommend doing it a Baptist church here in the South. It'll be more interesting that way. |

I coulda sworn that the right to bear arms was essentially there to guarantee that nobody trampled on all your other rights. Once the 2nd is gone, all your other rights are fair game. Maybe that's something Pussy Riot has figured out by now. Maybe if I knew for a fact Pussy Riot was anti-gun then maybe I wouldn't give a shit. Until then I'll oppose tyrany. |

Its too bad their music is sooooo fucking awful.
I looked up an audio back when they first hit the news. They're just not good, not even for punk. |
