Hell yeah!

Jonathan Banks has joined Bob Odenkirk in "Better Call Saul,” AMC/Sony TV’s upcoming prequel to Emmy-winning "Breaking Bad” that focuses on Odenkirk’s criminal lawyer Saul Goodman, sources confirm to Variety.

Banks will be a series regular on the show, which is slated to premiere in November on AMC.

Conceived by "Breaking Bad’s” creator Vince Gilligan and writer-producer Peter Gould, "Better Call Saul” will chronicle the evolution of Saul before he became Walter White’s lawyer.

Banks was a regular on "Breaking Bad” and played Saul’s trusted private investigator/fixer Michael "Mike” Ehrmantraut. His casting means that Saul will have his helper back by his side.

Odenkirk and Banks are the only actors set for "Better Call Saul” so far.

There's no way the show would have worked without Mike, at least not for me. He's my favorite supporting character.

ETA:

BE LIKE MIKE

Saul didn't know Gus, he knew Mike. And he knew he was connected to someone who was a Meth king.

He's still waiting at the safehouse.

Wonder if somehow they will work that into the prequel...Huell sent somewhere and Saul forgets him.

I'm gonna predict that this will not go well past the pilot, which will have the #'s based upon its relation to BB, but after that... meh.

Sweet! Mike was great.  I figure Vince Gilligan will do a good job. BB was awesome, so expectations will be high and that will factor in.

Damn if these guys don't look the part.
I wished I could have seen more than the first episode of Breaking Bad and most of the second but my cable company was playing games with AMC.
During the recent BB marathon I thought Mike got killed off.
I guess not or he got resurrected.

Did they write that piano scene specifically because they knew you played? (Skinny Pete playing "Solfeggietto" by C. P. E. Bach)

Charles Baker: I kind of manipulated that one. While we were at that church filming the Narcotics Anonymous bit, both Matt and I were playing the piano in the back. Lucky for me, he stepped away and I kept playing when one of the writers walked in, and she told the other writers. I had heard they looked to see what we were up to when we weren’t on camera, and so I wanted to give them some options [laughs].
