Looks like it would probably hold to me. The metal just has to be deformed enough to put enough friction on the screws so they won't turn. You don't have to see a giant slash across the top of the screws.

Loctite....punch....ball peen hammer....problem solved

Had a loose gas key many years ago.....once.
The solution above has remained in tact for countless thousands of rounds..
