I work at a utility company.
We had a guy just last week demand his smart meter be replaced for medical reasons... Right before he made the claim that it was a nazi conspiracy.

Then it is just a matter of snapping the current meter out of the receptacle, lining the lugs on the analog meter, snapping it back into place and replacing the metal collar. Then you can place a small lock on the ring. If your meter is outside, place a no traspassing sign near the meter.

I know some places will bill you the full readable amount if you tamper with the meter. Not sure how many kw hours a digital meter can read.

It pisses me off that my meter was replaced with a Smart Reader
a) without my consent and b) has resulted in a "Smart Meter" monthly charge on my bill.
