Thinking about going to Europe after graduation... possibly... depends on how expensive it is... and it seems expensive. I'll have about 10 days free before starting work.

Join the military, they'll pay you. Doesn't get any cheaper then that.

You can save on luggage by just wearing multiple layers on yourself. It may get a little warm and will be hard getting down the isles, but saves money!

What is "cheap"?
Tickets are relatively cheap right now....relatively. |
|
I go every year. I spend in between $1000 to $1200 on round trip tickets and I buy them 3-6 months in advance. I'd sure like to know if I could find any cheaper.

You just missed your chance. A free cruise just departed from Canada.

Absolute cheapest airfare is virtually always into Lisbon from any of the major East Coast International airports.
Of course, that leaves you quite some distance from most of the rest of Europe, but if you wanted to do Portugal, Spain, France and Monaco, it's doable with a Eurail Pass. |

Not looking forward to that plane ticket... |

Thinking of sending the wife and son next year as his HS graduation present. His mom went when she graduated, so she sees it as a rite of passage. A fucking expensive rite of passage.

Aeroflot from DC to Moscow to Berlin: $924... is it worth it? ETA: $865 to Warsaw.

I'm expecting about $2,400 in tickets. yay. Funny...we went to Berlin after I got back from Iraq in '08. Both round trips together were less than 1200. The next year the prices jumped and have stayed about the same since... |

we got tickets on condor air direct from vegas to frankfurt for like $700 round trip

Sign up with a courier service. Get paid a nominal amount and fly for free.
Or a high class escort service, but you need the looks and charm for that one, being in GD pretty much rules that one out. |

Used to use direct flights on Lufthansa but now its a little less $$ using Iceland air. Catch is you have to stop over for an hour in Iceland. MOST of the $900 to $1200 cost of any ticket is taxes and fees. The ticket itself is only like $400. Think about that. |

View Quote From reading that, it's almost as expensive as flying, depending on length of time between ports. Surprised to see that, figured it'd be significantly less. |

Condor (WWW>CONDOR.COM) BWI to FRA (Frankfurt Germany) $504.99 with NO stops. You asked for cheapest, not luxurious. Condor is similar to SW airlines – No frills. By contrast, Delta charges $1,243 for the same flight with one stop. The flight is roughly eight hours. That’s $739 that could go for_______ in Europe. If you depart around 18:00 EST you will arrive around 08:00 CET. If you sleep on the flight, you can hit the ground running.

I flew with a courier co. called "Airhitch" to Paris for $125 back in the 90's.
I don't know if those standby flyer companies still operate. And you are subject to their whims as to dates, times and airports. But once you get over, you're free to go where you please. |

I've always heard that you can book a ride on a freighter. They supposedly have quarters set aside for such and you eat with the captain.
Never done it but have been told that it can be done. |

You may have to fly through Rjererkadwgwrvacsdc or whatever that place is called in Iceland though. |
