Seems to just be a type aromatic plant used for essential oils and inscents that became popular in the 60's to cover the hippies stench.

If I remember correctly it used to be used as a pesticide before the hippies decided to wear it as a perfume. Guy at work wears it and it makes me want to vomit. I'm sure his is more potent than what you have found. I banned that stinky bastard from my office.
