My wife is always having these pot luck dish things at work. What are some of your simple, good, cheap or not so cheap recipes or ideas to feed work place masses?

Cheeseball

4 packages of that block cream cheese
3 packages Carl Buddig (or other brand) sliced beef
Couple bunches of green onions
Accent/Mrs. Dash
2 boxes of Wheat Thins

Put the cream cheese in a large mixing bowl and set aside to soften. Dice the green onions and beef, add to cream cheese with a few dashes of accent or what salt seasoning stuff, I've done a bit of Dillo Dust. before, and mix well. I usually put most of the beef and onions in, mix, and then add more as I go to get a good mixture. Love this stuff!

I like this idea.  Beer is always good and goes well with the next beer.

Cheesecakes. The real deal no bullshit mix. Cooking is one thing I am damn good at. Dad taught me about cars, guns and wimminz. Mom and the grandmothers about food.

The thing I disliked most about potlucks at my previous job (we don't have them where I work now), was the amount of drama and butthurt.

"So and so didn't try any of my.. whatever.."

Lady signed up to bring mashed potatoes at one. She brought a giant serving bowl filled with mashed taters that had been pureed to a thin soupy consistency. Thick liquid. Tasted fantastic, but still.

So one of the youngish new-hires says, "Hey! This gravy is really good! Who made this?"

People laughed, Maria jumped up and ran out, crying over her mashed potatoes being confused for gravy. I was the supervisor and had to console her.

Fuck that, I always just brought pies or cake from HEB.

Crispy eggrolls. For some reason, people love that stuff where I work.

Yes, some people are nasty and I have a story about that. Previous job, I had a co-worker who 2-3 per month would be near the trash can during briefing killing ants/roaches that was in his damn lunch box. No joke. One pot lock, I saw that someone had MADE and brought chocolate fudge balls. I love those things! I was eating one until another co-worker asked me "...you know who brought that, right?" Turns out it was made and brought by my co-worker who is always bringing bugs to to work! FML!

Cocktail meatballs with sauce. I've done this for years and they're as popular as ever.

They're not cheap or easy.
