So my FFL (Class 3 dealer) got a call this week from someone who is liquidating an elderly suicide's estate. Obviously the guy was a gun nut because he had bunches of firearms and parts in the house.
That includes several transferrable NFA firearms, some WWII goodies (Luger P-08, Walther P-38 & Wehrmacht marked Browning High Power) and a Snap-On roll around tool box full of parts. I got to handle the WWII guns this afternoon along with a very nice Peacemaker, a NIB Colt Ace, a pre-WWII Colt .38 and a factory fresh Mossberg 590 that was a contract overrun for the Marines with a factory SN that is a DOD number with "US" added as a prefix. I'd love to be able to afford all of those goodies.
The tool box contained about a dozen NIB bare AR uppers split between A-1s and slab-sides, barrels, BCGs, small parts and furniture. A complete inventory hasn't been done yet, but it sounds like a treasure trove of parts alone. Dealer is going to give me first dibs on the AR parts. The NFA goodies are being disassembled and the receivers going into a safe deposit box until the transfer can be competed. Would love to be able to buy one or more of the M-16s in that group of firearms.
I'll try and get updates as more info becomes available and possibly some photos posted before this stuff goes up for sale. The seller wants to sell off all of it cheaply because he has no interest in the firearms, he just bought all the contents of the house to get the antique furniture for his beach house.
This might get to be interesting and I thought I'd share this with you guys. Who knows, somebody might find something they've been seeking for years in this trove.
