January 24th. Tomorrow is the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby so I'll be busy all day with that and couldn't conduct a proper Burns' Night. Well I made do tonight and my brother surprised me with his recitation ability. He sounded just like Sean Connery in full pirate mode on "Address to a Haggis".  

Anyone else do Burns' Night or Pinewood Derby?

Did the pinewood derby when I was a Cub Scout and hopefully My son will do it when he is older.

Did derby in Boy Scouts and Co2 powered derby in shop class a few years later.

Well this is a first. The "U" car managed a 6th place finish and advanced to District.

I too had my Burns night interrupted this year with the pwd.  Ended up with 2 den 1st place finishes and 1st and 3rd place in the pack out of 50 ish boys. They were pleased.  Had my fresh Schlafy scotch ale, but unfortunately no haggis or neeps and tatties though. Next year.  Off to districts next week (took home a 2nd place in districts last year, so we are hopeful for a couple of top 10 cars this year).
