Ok here is my ? I have 2k to spend on a night vision scope or a suppressor for my 300 AAC .
or I can get a 50 bmg bolt action gun but I cant do all 3 at the same time so what would you do. I'm leaning towards a scope but the suppressor has me interested. what would you do? |
|
I would get the suppressor first.
220 gr. subs (even supersonics) are real nice suppressed. eFile the Form 4 so you don't have to wait as long. |

You will use the suppressor more. The NV scope will probably collect dust after the cool factor wears off. A BMG would be pretty bad ass too.

For fun, I would pick suppressor (can be used across multiple platforms depending on what you want buy and what you want to put it on), for a social.. dont know (after peeping thru a 5k optic, think I would be disappointed with anything less), 50 bmg would be the last entry into the bag of toys for me. |

Ok I am hung over and had time to think I, headed to a local shop to talk to them about a suppresser.
If I end up with the suppresser "I know it will take a long time to get" I may get NV while waiting. So I will end up with both. Problem solved. |

don't waste money on a Gen 2. go suppressor first, gen 3 NVG second, then IR stuff, DBAL, etc
it's gonna get expensive fast |

The rules for putting an item on a trust are changing soon. Get the can and get it soon.
Get a 30 cal can that you can use on a 556. My suggestion is the 762 SDN from AAC. I like that one. |
|
Well I looked in to a suppressor I am looking at around 1k for everything trust $300, stamp $200, and $500 to $600 suppresser.
To make my day even better the wife said she wants a 50 BMG for around the house to hang on the wall like a old fashioned shot gun over the fire place, in her mind its a conversation peace well ill go with that. I think she is just and nuts as me now day's in our old age. |

I have a PVS-14 and it was awesome at first but now I rarely use it. Good piece of gear to have though. That being said I would get the suppressor.

Get the can, man.
You will not regret it. You will use it every time you shoot. The night vision will loose its appeal after a little bit, it will just grow old. The .50, is also some what of a novelty, unless you're shooting long range all the time and load your own expensive ammo. BUT, the can will be used every time you go shooting, I guarantee it. I have 1 and am pending on 2 more now. Along with some SBRs pending for the cans to go on. |

Here's your link. You're on your own for the blow, though.

I have around 5k to spend this year on guns but I really don't want to blow it all at the start of the year. |

Save a little more and get a PVS14 NV. I'm saving my duckets for this setup.

$300 for a trust? You're paying about $250 more then you should be.

Suppressor for the win.
A .30 cal can would be good for your Blackout AND an AR as well as a .308. |
