I was actually expecting more out of Tucker and Dale. It was pretty fun, but not great.
I knew next to nothing about Cabin in the Woods when I watched it. It was awesome. More interesting premise, better characters, far superior writing. Much, much funnier. "It's never a merman. Just once, I'd like to see a merman" "No you wouldn't, they're terrifying." |

I saw Cabin in the Woods with absolutely know knowledge of the movie, not even the title, and had a very fun time. Most fun I've ever had seeing a movie, in fact. I think the trailer utterly spoils the movie.
Tucker and Dale I knew about but it was great too. Now that I've seen both, I'd say the re-watch appeal is vastly higher for Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, because once the twist(s) are revealed in Cabin, that's it. I'm still shocked at how much is given away in the Cabin trailer. |
