allow your animals to climb onto the bed at night and sleep with you?
I used to let my dog do this when I was a kid.
Now that I'm a "so-called-adult" I'm thinking of getting another dog, but I don't think I'd allow this anymore.
Most of the women I talk to seem to be 50/50 on the issue - not that it's an issue, just curious...

Yes, love my dogs, they are small 20lbs dont know if I would with bigger ones.

Mine slept with me for the first year or so but I don't allow him anymore. It's for 2 reasons, his breath and he growls whenever anyone comes into my room.

I've got two Rottys I rescued last year and when I first brought them home they acted like they were used to sleeping on the bed. Cured them of that notion real fast. My previous Rotty would sneak up on the bed while I was asleep and I'd wind up crushed against the wall or unable to turn over 'cause he'd be on the covers.

I let 'em on the couches, no problem, and they sleep on the rugs in my room when I do. Just not on the bed.

I got a pair of hundred pound chocolate labs, I let them on the couch but they are'nt allowed in the bedroom. They tend to like to eat everything.

My Great Dane sleeps in our bed while I am at work. When I am at home she acts all put out when she has to sleep on her own dog bed.
Just one more in the daily trials of living in a house with all females, Wife, 5 month old daughter, and female great dane.

I am looking to get a Male dane in the spring in a futile attempt to at least tilt the odds a little in my favor.

Our dog Jake sleeps with us sometimes. Only when it's really cold in the livingroom. Our other dog has arthritis and can't get on the bed. so,we make her a nice warm cozy pallet next to the bed. But Jake sleeps at the foot of the bed and keeps our toes warm. We don't let him do this all of the time.

We used to let our first lab sleep in the bed, but now she has her own pad that she sleeps on beside us. She just took up too much room!

I have six small dogs. Five have their own beds in their carriers. My oldest sleeps with me and my girlfriend. It's never been an issue if the girl liked it or not. The dogs been through a couple of girlfriends. She's more like a family member than a pet.

Our 60lb Lab sleeps with us usually. The rule is, if she wakes me up, she goes in her kennel.

She is usually pretty good though.

I had an English Pointer (about 50#) bitch that slept exactly like a human in my bed--on her own side, under the covers, with her head on the pillow. I loved having her there, as a dog's body temp is about 101* so she kept me warm. She has been gone for several years and I still miss her terribly. December is the month I had to put her down. [:(]

Our dog is about 130lbs and he sleeps on the floor.If he was smaller I might.
I heard a while back that one of the best ways to house train a pup is to let it sleep with you.
I have tried this on the last two and it seems to work well.

Our dog sleeps w/ us. I don't move much when I sleep, usually I sleep on my side. He curls up in the area behind my knees. He is about 55# and a heat factory!

For what it's worth no dogs on the furniture and definitly not in bed.

Our dogs don't have to do anything. Eat, sleep, play, these dogs have "the life". Chase rabbits, play with the cat, sniff all-around, etc. what more could a dog want?

There are three cardinal rules that our dogs live by:

1. No dog will ever live more than about 13 years. That is the nuts of being a dog.
2. No dog will ever be on the furniture. You may however lay on the rug in front of the fireplace.
3. No biting. The big people are your gods.

The furniture is for the people who work hard and pay the bills. The rug is for the dog who has no responsibilities.

Well my opinion would be for any pet or animal.

The animals stay outside and "We the people" stay inside.

I have three boxers dutchess 5 , shonie 1 1/2, jade 6mo. no to the bed but occasionally catch myself laying on the floor while the three stooges hog the couch. Swatmedic I know what you mean, I also have a wife and 2 daughters.

Well, we've got 7 dogs. Two of them always sleep in the bed. Not much problem as they are 10lb'ers. Then after we fall asleep 2 or 3 more try to sneak on and usually do a pretty good job until I'm pinned down and can't move and wake up. These are 40-70 lbs. The other two prefer other areas of the house. I have dog beds all over the place but they are apparently only for napping.

Just one Shih Tzu. He is too active at night, so he stays downstairs on his baby blankets and dog pillow.
