Heineken is the best commonly available beer possibly.

Heineken is the only beer I've found available virtually anywhere in the world. Heineken is what's in the beer cooler downstairs. I wish bottled it tasted as good as draught but that's true of most beers. Unless I'm in the mood to try some fruity specialty beer Heineken will do.

Its those green bottles they put it in. Import beer in green bottles always develops that skunky taste, the light must do something to the hops. Actually, youre absolutely right. But I'm way past getting into the details of it. FWIW, Rolling Rock tastes like water and most Bock tastes like a fart smells.. [:D] |

Went to the Outback (Australian flavored restaurant) and asked for a VB. Our server said they didn't have VB, but got me a 22oz bottle of something else (supposedly Australian). if there was any doubt that you all are wackos, the beers mantioned in this thread dispells it. the only...repeat, only beer worth trading legal tender for is newcastle brown ale. as for heineken, i would trade...
one athletic sock (used), four bread crumbs (mebbe five), a burnt-out light bulb (but only if it had that black spot thingy), one half of a business envelope (but not if the sticky part was new), or maybe even... one week's worth of navel lint (unless it has red threads in it, in which case it will be worth a case of spaten) then again, even newcastle is crap compared to captain morgan original, which is the nectar of the gods. [:P] |

Well, I don't have any schematics, but I'll give you the narrative.
It's a two level brew setup The kettle on the left is called the Hot Liquor Tun. It is simply a 15.5 keg with the top cut out, and a fitting in the side, gravity feeds into the Mash Tun, next to the left. The Mash tun is where all the serious business occurs in homebrew. It has a false bottom, SS plate with a buncha holes in it. It, and the brew kettle to the right, are hooked up to a food grade high temp pump. When Mashing, I can recirc the mash liquid back into the mash tun, for easy clearing, and when it is time to sparge, the valves are changed to let the wort flow into the brew kettle. During sparging, the HLT is gravity fed into the Mash Tun. Each kettle has its own burner under it, which I plumbed and control with needle valves.
