I saw the first one that way - Like watch a Viewmaster that moved.
Going to IMAX HFR tomorrow with CarbineKid  <-- three D shades

I saw the Hobbit in 2D, standard 3D, and HFR 3D. I liked the HFR version. More detail in fast moving scenes was preserved. It looked smoother than standard 3D. I'm in no rush to see the second installment.
