If the roles were reversed everyone would say how much better Brian Johnson was, and while Bon's efforts are admirable and he filled big shoes, he's no Brian Johnson. |

That being said, though I understand that a band's music does evolve with time, fame, influences, lineups, etc...I personally think that AC/DC's "sound" was better with Bon Scott. They sounded more raw, and unpolished yet with Bon Scott, that sound was a prefect fit. Those early albums are still their best IMO. Once Johnson become the frontman, their sound changed. I'm not saying it was worse, but it was different, and his vocals seemed to fit their more studio rich, big time sound. |

I have hung out with BY a number of times down here since he has a place in SRQ. Really nice guy. Soft spoken but can tell some stories. That said, Bon Scott is the only answer.

Scott was by far a better musician. Not only could he sing, but he could play every instrument that was in the band. Johnson was pretty much just vocals for the early part of his career. He has since learned how to play better. Scott was as good as a guitar player as the Young brothers at the time of his death.
