I have shot Wolf some, no complaints.

I have seen Silver Bear also, slightly more expensive, I know nothing about it.

PMC is awfully expensive, but probably better ammo.

Best choice for commercial ammo

Best 7.62x39 IMO is Yugo M67. It is corrosive, but it is brass cased, accurate and loaded hot.

What'cha shooting it out of?

AK's and SKS's aren't exactly picky. They'll eat anything, and lob it over that-a-way reliably.

Now, if you've got a bolt gun in x39, or an x39 AR, I might have a different thought. But AK/SKS... Cheapest shit you can find.

And what, $1 per round these days.

OP, any Russian steel case will do, it's all pretty much made at the same plants. Buy cheap and stack it deep.

SKS.

Just wondering about accuracy, or am I worrying about what kinds of rock I'm using in my slingshot, so to speak.

Agreed, on both counts. Too bad M67 has pretty much dried up (for now, at least).

Seriously? I bought at like 250-275 for a 1200 round tin I think. Its good ammo at that price point but I wouldn't pay much more. Fucking panic buyers were out of their minds.

Best I've found is Lapua, but it's pricey and hard to find. I usually shoot Prvi, Fiocchi or S&B in the AR's or Wolf in the SKSs.

Bingo. It's better than an AK, accuracy-wise, but the Ballistics of a 762x39 round kinda limit you out to significant ranges, anyway.

What are you going to be doing with the ammo?

Shooting tree stumps at 50 yards, or shooting for tiny groups at 100 yards?

Lapua, Norinco, and Golden Tiger. The best thing you can do is try several brands and let the rifle choose.

I wouldn't mind buying a little bit of that stuff since I can form it into 6.5 Grendel brass.
