I use to always have a second job. I'm greedy and like money, plus I like to work. But for the las 6 months, I tried to work only one job. I don't like the off time, and started looking for a second job. I think this time I will do something totally removed from my full time job. Mix it up some.

No. I have a very good paying job.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a weekend job working in a jewelry store. I'd stay broke of that extra money if I did though.

ETA: Already worked in a gun store on weekends.

I am actually looking for a 2nd job. I dont need it, but if I get a 2nd job I can take all of that money and use it as play money or just bank it. It is very hard to find a part time second job when you have a full time job. People dont seem to want to hire you.

I will pretty much do anything but I would like to get like a security officer job for nights and weekends or even work as an assistant manager at the movie theater for nights and weekends. Also if I had a job at the theater my family gets to see free movies. My younger sister got a job at the movie theater as a 2nd job. She really likes it.

Regular job is estimator/project manager for a commercial excavation company. Usually work from 8:00 AM-6:00 or 6:30 PM, have 5 kids, all active in sports for at least 3/4 of the year and have 3 side jobs. The side jobs are pretty flexible though, where I can decide when or if I work it.

- Teaching CCW classes once or twice a month, depending on demand. (for the first several months following the school shootings, it was more)

- Have my own FFL and do transfers and small orders for customers.

- Bouncer at a local bar about once a month.

I teach an the local university a course a semister. That money is used all for toys.

It buys a pretty tricked out AR a quarter.

I used to work part time as ground crew for an airline. I really enjoyed the work and the travel benefits were awesome but my regular job takes precedence and scheduling became troublesome so I had to give it up.

Yes, I'm an unpaid 1-man plumber, carpenter, electrician, painter, drywall and flooring guy, cleaning crew, decorator, planner, teacher, babysitter, chauffeur, cook, tech support, mechanic, and appliance repair man.

Have a second kid and a wife with even a modest social calendar. Work becomes your "me time."

That and my primary time sheet usually hovers around 60+ hours/week.

No. I have I guess hobbies. Rebuilding a truck and upgrading my house. The truck I'm just doing for fun and will just break even on parts and materials. The house work, I believe it will add value.

Essentially, I need to be available to them 24/7/365 at a moment's notice, or in other words, I am technically always on call. To those with second jobs, are you doing so with your primary employer's consent? Do they care? Or are you just breaking the rules?

Yep. Depends on the time of year but it can change from 16 to 40 hours on top of my full time 40 hour a week job. I work at major league sports venues (football/baseball/hockey/basketball). Sometimes I work my 8 hour shift, change and work another 7 hours at the venue. During the overlap of baseball and football seasons I can go without a day off 2 months.

My full time job is 56 hours a week. I have always worked an additional 20-30 hours at another job but like I said, I've only had one job for the last 6 months. I'm thinking about waiting tables. Not hard work and it's cash money at the end of the night.

I have 2 products that I sell to employers. My time and my skill.

My employers have no control of the hours of the day for which they do not pay me. Plain and simple.

Wow, it sounds like you have a handful!!! I have been thinking of a second job as it'd be nice to have a little more cash. The only issue I've run into is that my full-time job's schedule moves around from month to month.

Yeah, I hear you and understand....but things get murky when you are salaried. I believe it's fairly common for salaried folks to be in the position I'm in.
