I put "some" thought into opening up a removal shop
turns out you have to be a licensed dermatologist to do it here

seems like a pretty good business opportunity with all the crappy tattoos coming out of shops that come and go every 6 months

Had my one and only tattoo, small one on upper arm, removed a few years back.  Easily one of the most painful things I've done  on purpose.  Took four visits.  Mostly gone (very faded) and a tiny bit of scarring.  My .02, skip the ink to begin with.

Do certain ink types or styles burn off easier?

I don't know shit about tats.  I was under the impression that removal didn't really work so good.

It is actually a very bad thing. If this becomes wide spread, it will become difficult to gauge if people have felony convictions by simply looking at them.

I don't think I'll ever understand how a website with so many people bent on personal freedoms are so catty when others express themselves.

black is easiest white is hardest
the lighter the ink the more expensive the machine needed lol

the cheap lasers only work on black ink and I believe being licensed to use them isnt required

A lot of it is poking fun, but there are some here who are for personal freedoms only when it suits their agenda.

Nobody's ever said it should be illegal.

The irony is, that the ones that are most demanding that tattoos should be universally accepted as forms of expression, are often the first to throw stones a nerdy hipster with thick rim glasses, a turtleneck and skinny jeans.

I don't care how inked up anyone else is really, I like some of it and I think some of it looks ridiculous. But be honest here, you saw that shit on someone else and decided to do it too. How much self expression can there be in that?

I have two that I really don't care about at all. They are hidden unless I'm shirtless, if I could get them taken off cheaply AND effectively, I'd consider getting it done. I was young and thought they were cool, I'm different now and would erase them if I could.

I would get them removed IF:

It was reasonably priced;
There was no real scarring; and
It wouldn't 'tan' funny in the summertime.

I doubt that's the case, so I'll live with my $150 choices of my early 20's.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is called efficiency.

You need that sort of great thinking to get a PhD.

Yes. Some inks are designed to be easier to remove. Why you would bother to get a tattoo with the idea that you can remove it easier, I don't know.

With plain inks, I believe black is easiest, followed by blue and green, with reds and yellows the hardest to completely fade. I think.

why not just tattoo a uniform flesh color over the existing tattoo?
