I was leaving work this morning a little earlier than normal and wouldn't you know it, SF was having some sort of exercise and I got stopped exiting the base. Normally this takes every bit of 30 minutes sometimes as they comb over your vehicle to make sure you're not toting out government property. Not this time.

As I was slowing down a number of things were going through my head. Such as, "how much ammo is loose rolling around under the seats did I not find last outing. Is my vehicle paperwork up to date. Is my ass going to get stretched tonight. How much of a god complex will this one have."  Then I stop and this conversation unfolds:

Me: How ya doing Airman? (As I'm handing him my ID)
SF: Sir, I need to you to turn off the vehicle and step out please.
Me: <vehicle turned off stepping out> No problem man, what's going on?
SF: We have a simulated alarm going off and just need to check you and your truck. Where are you coming from?
Me: Flightline, Bldg XXX. Want me to pop the hood?
SF: <finally looks up at me> Yeah.....Cool hat, you buy a lot for LaRue?
Me: Yeah man, I think heroin is cheaper. You shoot off duty? blah blah gun stuff.
SF: Well shit man, I ain't gonna hold you up, have a good morning.

So, if you do indeed surf arf and read this, I'm having a beer for ya!

We are everywhere.
Was having this conversation last night with another arfcom'er over dinner.....at this point there are over 300k registered accounts on the site....that's roughly 10% of all Americans. Granted there are some retreads in the total count, and we do have international members, but the point is....there are a LOT of us.

so just shy of 1%.
but that's not doing bad at all.
considering another 1% has probably been banned from this site
a good 20% of americans probably dont even have the internet.
the rural, redneck kind with lots of ar-15's.
