Several
We know this can be difficult -- and personal. But if you're comfortable, please tell us a little bit about each person: his or her name and age, his or her relationship to you, and what happened to him or her.
An older man, in his 50s. He broke into a house and attacked one of the residents with a baseball bat. An old lady living in the home shot him, ending the attack.
How did your life change as a result?
I was struck by how violence can strike anyone, anywhere, even in the sacred castle of the home, and how we must be ready to defend ourselves anywhere.
Did your feeling toward guns change as a result of knowing someone who died from gun violence?
All law abiding persons should take upon themselves the responsibility to own a gun for self defense and the training to use it safely and effectively.
Finally, may we publish your insights (and any uploaded files) and attribute them to you? (Your comments may be edited for length or clarity.)
