And if you take the monkey in the third cage, which they didn't show and not make it do anything all day long but give it free cage rent, a cell phone and an EBT card....
It votes Democrat every time |

interesting study, I've seen this several times, and seen it used to justify minimum wage hikes...
i think it's important to note that you're seeing equal work for unequal pay on display here. the running narrative in our society is trying to achieve unequal work for equal pay. this study is a great way to prove that all work has a unique value, not that all work should be rewarded with equal pay. it seems to get turned around a lot - in the places i've seen this posted. |

Equal pay for equal work. All work is not equal. Those who can perform more valuable tasks are offered more pay.

I was kind of expecting an "awww" moment of the grape monkey giving one to the cucumber monkey. Guess not.

The monkey tried to figure out what was wrong with his rock haha.

ok that was funny and interesting, but what happens if Monkey A does a different task, will it still demand equal pay for unequal work? |

YEAH!!! if that dirt on the shovel isnt properly balanced it could result in the bridge falling and people dieing. In order to shovel dirt properly, you have to go to 4 years of difficult school with lots of math including calclus,multi- vector analysis, and cost benefit analysis. Then you have to study really really hard so you can pass a test and be legaly be responsiable for the things you shovel, and if that shovel full of dirt kills people YOU go to jail. |
|
Just another example of the growing trend with the FSA in the "everyone gets a trophy for playing" culture. It is seen here, in the $15 for flipping burgers, and in thinking they should get free healthcare. Under the philosophy they were taught, just by existing they are entitled to everything every other person has. Success from working hard has pretty much been eliminated in the Millennial generation. Just existing is hard work and they are demanding compensation just for being alive. This trend is only going to get worse.

I thought this was going to be about two people from Detroit at first...
|

The real answer is to put them both in the same cage, so they are competing for the same job... See what happens then. My guess is one monkey ends up bleeding.

Tell that ungrateful monkey: "Back in my day we were paid with cucumbers ....and we liked it, by dingy's"

In a capitalist society the cucumber monkey gets another job. In a socialist society the cucumber monkey is stuck with whatever his caretaker gives him...

View Quote In the government's eyes, all work is equal. Get that through your head and it makes sense. For example, my ex-wife, with two Bachelor's degrees and a CPA accreditation, who works less than 15 hours a week, is considered to put in the same effort as I am, at 60+ hours a week, and therefore is entitled to a portion of my income so as to avoid there being a disparity between the income levels of the two parents. It's no different than robbing white collar workers of their income to pay for the FSA. The government doesn't give a shit about your level of effort, only what they can take from you. You are a crop. |

I wonder how the monkeys would feel if you took 20% of their food and gave it to a monkey who didn't work?
How about that for an experiment. (P.S. According to the guy on NPR the other day this experiment was about the trying to determine whether or not "morality" and "fairness" came from evolution or philosophy. The common idea prior was that morality/fairness was a human construct.) |

And the monkey with the grapes will now have to fork over two rocks for every one grape he earns. He should also consider arming himself to defend against the have-nots. |

I noticed that the Monkey getting grapes didn't stop taking them out of compassion for the monkey getting cucumbers. Just jealousy on the part of the monkey getting cucumbers.
