I wish we could organize an effective way to shut off the tax payer spigot to the federal government until economic lunacy and dumbassary is abolished. But unfortunately total economic meltdown is about the only way it'll ever happen

well, that may be what they lost on the stock in the most recent sale...
there is still the money they gave to gm before they defaulted and entered bankruptcy - 15.4 billion, …In addition, the government would extend a credit line to the new company and forgive the bulk of the $15.4 billion in emergency loans that the U.S. has already provided to GM, the source said. plus a 45.4 billion tax credit - that's right, they didn't have to pay taxes on at least 45.4 billion Now it turns out, according to documents filed with federal regulators, the revamping left the car maker with another boost as it prepares to return to the stock market. It won't have to pay $45.4 billion in taxes on future profits. and they are lying about how much the govenment is losing on gm, as they lost 9 billion when the stock ipo'ed Treasury is reducing its stake in GM through the initial share sale from 61 percent to 37 percent at minimum. It could sell more shares initially to bring down taxpayer exposure to 33 percent, depending on whether an overallotment option is exercised. Bloom said GM has done the right thing and pricing of $33 per share is a "fair deal" even though the partial sale represents a loss of roughly $9 billion on taxpayers' original investment. People here will keep lining up to buy shit from them, and when the UAW once again helps to get another democrat elected they will be the first on here with the FBHO rhetoric.
Also don't forget the billions of dollars worth of stock gifted to the UAW. Just imagine if when all this shit went down Americans refused to continue to patronize these companies, imagine what kind of message that would have sent and where we'd be today. |

I love it when people say things could have been worse when our tax dollars go to help a company they like... Wasting tax dollars is bad unless it helps me... isn't that exactly what is going down with the FSA slugs???
whether it is welfare junkies or rich fat cat businessmen or middle class working folks... when the gov spends our tax dollars inappropriately... it is still bad for the country and at some point we the people are going to have to do something about it. I hope it can be a voting issue but I'm afraid it is looking like a peaceful solution is just not in the cards. |
