what the hell is a C17 Globemaster? i know what a C5a is, but that plane looks pretty damn big. how do the two compare?

i remember this plane now! it was still a prototype when i was in! (87-91) actually, it was in test flight phase when i last heard of it, i think that was around 89, not sure. after that, i went to panama and kind of forgot everything!

that's a damn big plane!

Sounds like a plan. Hey you can go to college while you're there. They will pay up 75% of your tuition while you are in. Plus the GI bill when you get out. Its a good deal.

Go ahead and do it, just don't go for the old "You can do college while you're in" thing. If you go airborne infantry, you'll be way too busy to do school, and if you do polish some knob and your chain of command lets you, then you're just f#$@ing your buddies who are taking up your slack while you're sitting in class.
Not meaning to rant but I've seen too many kids show up planning on having time for classes and all, thinking they're gonna have their Bachelors after a three or four year enlistment or something. When they find out the truth it's "Man , that 's bullshit, screw this place " and  all. So if you do join to "go play airborne" , do it for the right reason and remember your primary job is to kill selected heathens , not going to college.
