Have you got RealPlayer?
Not sure, but I think that it's required to view the clip.

Yes.

I get a "RealPlayer needs new software to play this clip" message.  Since I have the latest free version of RealPlayer, I know I don't need new software.  This message doesn't come up frequently, and when it does the clip won't play with any of my other players (Quicktime can play all my RP clips).

WOW!  [shock]

"Think I can make it in between there?"

"Nope."

"Aw, ye of little faith.  Look how big that is!"

Nearly famous last words, and our tax dollars at work.  Thanks, guys.

I bet that chopper had seen better days after that.  Kinda wish there was some pics of the chopper and that tree after the fact.

Anybody know if they got in trouble for the "accident"?

As a former Apache chief this was Very funny!

But wanna bet they pulled the enlisted guys out of bet to go gard, tear down, and haul that sucker away in the dead of night.

I have yet to make it further than 17 seconds through before RealPlayer times me out[:(]

Could this have been taken in the former Yugoslavia in 1994 by any chance? When we tried to use them in Kosovo?

This is not verbatim, but pretty close.

Apache chop-o-matics the tree
Pilot: Oh shit!
Co-pilot: Get a hold of her!  Get a hold of her!
Pilot: I've got it.  I've got it.  I've got it...

Apache wobbles back and forth dramatically

Co-pilot (on radio): Eagle 294, Mayday mayday mayday down and medical, on the ground declaring an emergency
ATC: Copy that 294, roger.  What's the nature of your emergency

Video ends.

I didn't hear the lines quoted until reading this and watching the video again.  LOL  I bet he felt like a real badass.  LOL

Mebby its the soundcard, but some of the radio chatter sounds Korean or Vietnamese to me right before the turn towards the tree.

Damn Charley trees...

That clip is a classic.  USN has used that for 5 years or so as an Aircrew Coordination Training visual aid.  Things look smaller on NVGs because of reduced visual acuity and "Ye of little faith" is a great last line.

I personally love his crew member's response of "nope". Simple and to the point, a man who knew his business.

Don't you just hate people who ask questions just to ignore the answer? :)

Wonder how much stew that pilot landed in.

If you're having trouble watching it, just right click the icon after you save it onto your hard drive, click on "open with" and then click on Windows Media Player.

I'll have to remember that "ye of little faith" line when I do something stupid.
