I'm only half serious on that, but check this- here's something I encountered in one of my many recent job searches/applications:

Seriously, though- I checked my previously-entered and accepted (valid) info: yes, I identified myself as a citizen of the United States (not United Arab Emirates or something by mistake ), so there's no nationality/etc. reason I can think of for having an "invalid currency" return there.

I also tried entering (where appropriate):

Competitive
Negotiable
$60,000
$5,000/mo
[No dollar sign] 60,000/yr
[No dollar sign] 60,000
[No dollar sign] 5,000/mo

...and ALL of them lead to the same result whenever I click "next."  The real pisser is that I can't proceed to the next page of the application until this "error" is corrected...and I can't leave those two items blank.

So...bad page coding, or bad me?  First time I've ever encountered this in the multitude of online apps I've completed.

Just another broken website.

When you start seeing people being paid in Yuan, or Bitcoins, let us know.

Try just numbers... no "$" no "," no "/" no "yr"

This is what did it.  Thanks.

Of course the presence (or lack of) a simple comma doesn't change the validity of the currency, in my mind...but what do I know?

Yup. Most don't want anything but numerals.

It would've been really confusing to me if that had worked, but using the "$" had not.

Not that you want to know my life story or anything...but I originally majored in Computer Science- for about half a semester.

I did okay once I switched to German Language and Literature.  I like to think that this decision had something to do with the USAF sending me to Ramstein after I commissioned.
