I also got to see how easily people are fooled with a bunch of foolish shiny trinkets. A similar observation is made by the guy who wrote "New ID in America." He says that the simplest "trappings" of success--business cards, badges, ID cards to various (nonexistant) clubs and such-- can open many a door. Probably not so much now that everything is digitized but still... when you flash a business card or a tin badge in the face of an unsuspecting mark, it will frequently work... especially if you are awakening them from Condition White. |
