Great. Something else I don't need but really want. The neighbors really won't be happy that I need their trees to feed that thing!
Me and a couple buddies looked at that thing a couple months ago online. I don't remember, cause we were drinking, but I think it was like $40k.
I always liked that machine, but I can't afford one obviously
HO.
LEE. SHIT. That thing is freakin' awesome, and terrifying at the same time. Good Lawd! |
Thinking of getting one of those. Those Central FL winters seek up on you sometimes and you don't want to get caught off guard.
I need a skid steer now,,, Oh and probably a fireplace at some point
30K plus the skid steer... I like to stay in shape vs that kind of money.
know a couple people from the news lately i wouldn't mind seeing take a trip in that thing
Ha.
My father in law thought he was really doing something when he got his log splitter. Can't wait to show him this video. |
The sound it makes when pressing the wood into the claws is soothing.

That log splitter is made? by a company that also manufactures prosthetic limbs |
Saw that a few years ago.
Do want. Got quoted a price of 23k for it though. Do not want that bad. |
View Quote That looks dangerous as fuck, but still safer than the ancient 3 point hitch splitter that my grandpa used to have. That damn thing scared the ever loving fuck out of anyone unfortunate enough to be within 300 feet of it. |
Those "firewood plants" used to really take up some room and had a conveyor over to a pile. I once had a wood operation so big, my brother and I were starting to look into one. We supplied firewood to over 500 condos at one time when I was in college. Wood put me through school.
That sure is one nice little compact package! |

And the redneck version That log splitter is made? by a company that also manufactures prosthetic limbs This one looks even worse. The guy puling apart pieces on the table top makes me cringe every time. |
I hear it was based on a FEMA camp design |
View Quote I have a buddy that has one of those. I call it the "cone of death". |
I was happy yesterday because I placed an order for a "monster" maul. Damn, my back is jealous.
View Quote impressive, but slow as crap. the skid steer splitter is putting out WAY more wood. |

There is one of those in the wookie's sex toy box.

View Quote That design fails. Having to cut up logs by hand, or with another dedicated machine, and then hand load them into the splitter is a serious oversight when designing a monster firewood splitter IMO. |
Yup, video has been around a long time. $40k. I could watch that damn thing work all day and never be bored, it's hypnotic.....

However, I do like the idea of putting the splitter on the loader to eliminate a process step. |
