Quoted: Today our grandchildren play at OMON special forces troops and terrorists. It's sad, really. Did we sacrifice millions of people on the altar of a peaceful life just to raise our children in such a spirit of aggression? Not sure I understand the person that wrote that. Is he/she upset because people fight and die for freedom? |

It sounds to me like he believed that an advancing society would eventually find no need for war.
He sees an advanced society, and war still exists. He doesn't know why, because nobody has suggested to him that conflict is simply human nature. War is conflict gone ape-spit. |

Time for the peaceniks to wake up & smell the fucking coffee. I also agree with a line by another smart guy,"The tree of liberty must, from time to time, be watered by the blood of patriots and tyrants." Remember "the War to end all Wars"?, well guess what. On my way to visit some friends I stopped off at a toy store to buy a toy gun for their 7-year-old son Misha. To my amazement, I couldn't find a single machine gun or pistol in the entire store. "I'm looking for toy firearms," I told the elderly Israeli saleswoman, supplementing my meager supply of Hebrew words with gestures and sounds like "Bang! Bang!" The saleswoman shrugged her shoulders and replied in broken English: "Why would you want toy firearms? To teach the child aggressive behavior? No, I don't sell toys like that, " she said, pointing to shelves stocked with educational games. I picked a new computer game and gave it to Misha, much to his delight. There is a time for everything. The time will come, far too soon, when Misha will be called upon to take up arms and defend his country.
