so Obamacare was their answer. It is pretty self evident that Obamacare as written is going to be massively more expensive and there will still be millions uninsured. Medicare has always run on a deficit, Medicaid has always run on a deficit, but the dems and progressives would love to shove us all onto a combined Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare combination. Compounding incompetence is not an improvement. Rising prices paid by the working class is not fair, losing one's choice in physicians is not what was promised. How can this be a good thing for the dems?

So you reform it so that employers drop healthcare on their employees.
You also make it advantageous to not have over 50 people working for you.
You also make advantageous to have only part time employees.

Now the jobless will qualify for free healthcare paid for by those part time workers that are also having to go on food stamps to feed their family.
But now there isn't enough revenue coming in to pay for it. So we float another trillion dollar loan, print some more money, and make the economy more unsteady.

Yeah way to go Dems.

Obamacare was never the "end", it is just their means to the real end, single payer.  It is a disaster on purpose......

so what happens when there are not enough of us paying taxes?

Aren't we there already?  Trillion dollar defecits, 108 million on some sort of government assistance with 107 million full time employees.  That number includes FT Government, which it shouldn't, since they are paid from tax dollars too.

Everyone likes to point to Europe and Canada for their systems, neglecting to point out their massive tax burden, especially on the wealthy.  So as those of us how are paying taxes decline, the amount of taxes we'll pay will increase.  The ultimate end of that will be revolution, which is why they are so determined to eliminate private gun ownership.  But the penultimate outcome, the one they are hoping will survive any resistance, is a socialist "utopia" run by the government.

And I'm not even a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist!!!!

I agree, the system did need reform, but they did it way wrong. .Gov tampering needed to be curbed, not injected right up the middle.

That plus the private system was painted into a corner by...Democrats.  By not allowing insurers to say to no to specific people applying for group insurance they created a condition where someone could go without insurance until age 40 and then sign up and have a 1/2 million dollar heart attack a year later.

Insurance has been socialized for some time now, the only way to pay the tab up into future solvency is to tax the young...but they destroyed the job market too.

At the end of the day they're like the Soviets- they got so good at painting people into corners and destroying competition they did it to themselves.

If enough younger Americans refuse to sign up at risk of the penalties; the system will crash almost immediately.

With news that the IRS can't go after people for the penalty, but can only abscond with it if you have a refund coming; people can adjust their withholding and burn the damn thing down.

Obamacare (ACA) in its entirety is its own form of government. It is not Constitutional despite what SCOTUS and POTUS tell us.
It is an end run around the Constitution.

President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.
Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC NEWS that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a “cancellation” letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience “sticker shock.”
